Limestone gorge dropping from Peveril Castle toward Castleton in the Peak District. Season 1 used Castleton and Cave Dale as the Vale around Runestone.

Admission: Public footpath. Peveril Castle is English Heritage and ticketed.

Parking & accessibility: Castleton village car parks; walk up Cave Dale.

Best time to visit: May–September. The dale is a dry-valley scramble in places.
