Real-world history

Remote leeward beach below Mākua Valley, a place of deep Hawaiian cultural meaning and long-disputed military land. The base of a giant statue was built and taken down here on each filming day.

Parking & accessibility: Roadside parking along Farrington Highway. Do not leave valuables in the car.
