Real-world history

Ruined 16th-century tower house on the Hopetoun estate. Its front is Lallybroch, Jamie Fraser's family home. The building is derelict and closed; all Lallybroch interiors were filmed in the studio.

Admission: Timed-entry ticket required, booked online through the Hopetoun estate. Exterior only; you cannot enter the building. Closed in winter.

Parking & accessibility: Visitor car park on the estate with limited spaces. Minibuses and coaches must arrange access in advance.

Best time to visit: Dry weather, first time slot of the day. Combine with Blackness Castle and Hopetoun House.
