Real-world history

Built 1923 to 1929 as the headquarters of the Petschek & Co. bank. In the Second World War it was the Gestapo headquarters for the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, and a plaque on the corner remembers the victims. Today it houses part of the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Logistics & accessibility

Admission: Exterior only. It is a working government building, not open for tours. Stand on the public pavement.

Parking & accessibility: No parking. Short walk from Muzeum or Můstek metro.

Best time to visit: Daytime; the façade is in shade much of the day.
