Real-world history

A vast limestone quarry dressed as Castle Black and the base of the Wall. The ice wall itself was a set plus VFX; the yard, tunnel and elevator lived here for most of the series. Public access is limited — view from the road / rail line.

Logistics & accessibility

Admission: Not a public visitor attraction. Occasional organised viewpoints; Titanic Studios and the Banbridge Studio Tour cover interiors.

Parking & accessibility: No visitor lot. Do not enter the working/private site.

Best time to visit: Pair with the official Studio Tour rather than trespassing.
